URSSAF and CESU explained for families and workers

Understand declared home employment in France and how Fafa can help you prepare before using official services.

URSSAF collects social contributions in France. CESU is an official service that helps private individuals declare certain home services. For families and workers coming from Israel or from Jewish communities abroad, the words may be unfamiliar, but the idea is important: declared work protects rights.

Why declarations matter

When home work is declared correctly, the employee can build social rights and the employer has clearer records. This can concern cleaning, childcare, support for an older person, help with daily tasks or other eligible home services. Each situation has conditions, so the official CESU and URSSAF websites remain the reference.

What Fafa can do

Fafa does not replace URSSAF and does not submit declarations for you. Volunteers can explain common words, help you prepare questions, identify the official page to consult and encourage a declared, transparent relationship between families and workers.

Before you begin

  1. Clarify the work. Write down the type of help, hours, place and expected tasks.
  2. Check the official rules. Use cesu.urssaf.fr and urssaf.fr for procedures and current rates.
  3. Keep records. Save contracts, declarations, payslips and payment proof.
  4. Ask early. If you do not understand a step, contact the official service or ask Fafa to help you prepare the question.

Important: This article is informational only. For a procedure, account creation, declaration, dispute or rate calculation, use the official URSSAF/CESU channels.
